Described as sounding like a ‘Welsh Taylor Swift’ and ‘Laura Marling’s little sister’, Ellie James’ music has an organic, sincere sound that combines folk, pop and alternative. Since the release of her debut EP ‘City Lights’, Ellie has performed at the House of Commons in the company of Mark Radcliffe and Cerys Matthews, been hailed as ‘quite brilliant’ by Tom Robinson from Radio 6 and signed to Charlotte Church’s publishing company Bounce Publishing. She then had her songs ‘Company’ featured in the Peacock’s Christmas advertising campaign and ‘Lines & Angles’ in the independent film High Tide.
Her new EP ‘Are You Listening?’ was released on July 13th 2015 and showcases her rapid growth and maturity, reaching number 15 in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart. Ellie Makes Music maintains a certain value that is built for the long haul, rather than just a ‘hot act for the minute.’
